Ph.D. Masterclass

On 31 August 2026, the European Association for Southeast Asian Studies (EuroSEAS) held its PhD Masterclass at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
This closed-door academic workshop serves as a signature feature of the EuroSEAS conference, bringing together early-career scholars and experienced academics within the Humanities and Social Sciences. The session is structured around peer-to-peer and mentor-led review: early-stage candidates present their research proposals, while advanced candidates discuss a key chapter of their thesis. Each draft receives targeted, constructive feedback from both a senior mentor (1st Discussant) and a fellow doctoral researcher (2nd Discussant) based on theoretical and thematic overlaps in their work.
