Naandito (Here)

“…if displacement fragments geography, water connects us and rice sows us anew.”

Karessa Malaya (1984), Filipino writer, photographer, performance artist, activist and mother, invites us into the diverse experiences, challenges and networks of care that shape life in the Filipino diaspora in her photographic exhibition Naandito. Through her lens, rice and water mirror the migrant journey, revealing the bonds of solidarity, care and belonging that connect and sustain the community.

Long Story Short

Installation by Lily Montero Arranz that takes as its point of departure the Vietnamese tradition of ritual paper houses, known as nhà giấy and associated with vàng mã offerings.
The work reinterprets this practice from an intimate and contemporary perspective. Rather than gathering material possessions, it constructs a capsule composed of photographs, videos, sounds, and memories recorded in Vietnam in 2025.

Spain and Indonesia: Echoes and Legacy of the Spanish Presence in Southern Philippines

Based on the historical research of Antonio C. Campo López, this exhibition explores the complex and interconnected history sparked by the spice trade. Through archival documents, maps, and contemporary photography, the exhibition reveals the shared cultural, culinary, and linguistic footprints bridging Spain and Indonesia. Beyond a narrative of conquests and fortifications, it uncovers a process of reciprocal cultural exchange connecting the insular memory of Southeast Asia with the Hispanic world.
